Classic Frame - Table Lamp

In order to create the classic timber frame, all artwork, is manufactured using hand made, time-honored timber frame construction details and techniques. Every mortise & tenon joint includes scaled through brass pegs.

 

Materials

We work almost entirely in domestic wood. Traditional flat sawn and quarter sawn white oak has been used for the frames unless indicated. Non-domestic Ebony is used to hold the hammer beam in location.

The custom stained glass shades have been designed to complement the lines of the frame and overall piece. We have chosen Art Glass for the shades because of its rich tonal qualities, which allow the light to shine through, without the glare of the bulb effecting the beauty of the piece. The custom shades have been assembled by hand, using classic assembly techniques similar to those made popular by Tiffany at the turn of the 19th century.

 

Finishes

To ensure a smooth quality finish, each of the wood pieces have been hand sanded a minimum of three times. After staining, multiple coats of finishes are applied before the frame is complete.
